May you find joy celebrating the
miracles of this season
Orlando Brain
Injury Support
(O-BIS)
Est. 1988
It is important to help
build "Brain Injury Awareness" for the 210,000 people that live with
a brain injury who call Florida home. This includes children and the
62% of returning wounded veterans with brain injury who face a
lifetime living in the Brain Injury world. The Orlando Brain Injury
Support Group (OBIS) offers Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors (TBIS)
the opportunity to share information and to support one another in
an environment of empathy and understanding.
The Main Purpose of the OBIS is to provide a safe environment where
TBIS share their individual needs and compensation strategies. It is
often from others in like situations that the best solutions to
problems can be found. OBIS meetings are where difficulties and
emotions can be discussed freely without judgment and new
friendships can be forged. Our duty is to fulfill the needs of the
Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors. Orlando Brain Injury Support Group
is Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor driven. “We are self supported
through our own contributions.”
OBIS is the brain injury awareness outlet since 1988 for TBIS,
family, and advocates by having community speakers and sharing
resources. Together we can each build a strong link in the chain of
brain injury recovery through friendship and support.
